Location: Bagnor
Feeder CES 7 of 8
Session:02/02//2022 07:45
to 11:30hrs
Notes: It seem that most of the regulars were more interested in territory than
coming to feed. Normally at this time of
year at least 50% of those captured are re-traps, but few came today; just 16%
of the capture. The Great Spotted Woodpecker was a long-winged bird, a millimetre
over the normal range for British birds. Nice to ring a couple of Goldfinch. Great Tit still relatively scarce.
Present: JL,IW
Weather: some sunny periods mostly overcast, calm, cool
Nets: 12metres, 2 rides of 6M nets one each side of
feeder up from 08:00 to 11:00 hrs

Sightings: A female Sparrowhawk soaring over towards Snelsmore, Mistle Thrush and
Skylark singing, a Lesser Redpoll flew over NE calling and the usual three
Siskins regularly
came to drink near the feeder. Nine Chaffinch flew south
late in the session, the most I have
seen here for some time.
