Notes. All juveniles captured showing that local post breeding dispersal
in well underway, shame we missed last week. Another Lesser Whitethroat, that’s
four so far this session and about two weeks earlier than previous years. A lot
more variety in last year’s matching visit though.

Sightings: The heath was quiet
today, not much moving. It is noticeable that there are fewer Green Woodpeckers
about this year so far; usually they are quite noisy when the fledged
youngsters disperse. Not many butterflies on the wing and where are the dragon and damsel flies? Ian did manage to
find a Common Dodder, a parasitic plant that grows on heather.
