22/07 Greenham Common

Location: Greenham Common Western Enclosure (wk28)
Session: 22/07/2022 07:30 to 11:00hrs
Notes: The forecast earlier in the week was not good for this morning (rain), but it changed Thursday. Condition still not ideal and the nets were affected, when a front passed through, by the associated blustery wind. We saw Long-tailed Tits bounce off the billowing nets during a blustery period. Not so many signs of a movement apart from a few Blackcaps and we ringed what was probably the fourth immature of the Stonechat family party seen on Tuesday.
Present: JL,IW
Weather: overcast, sunny periods, blustery breeze, cooler
Nets: 48metres 3 Rides, 18M, 18M and 12M up  from 08:00 to 10:30 hrs
Lures: Warblers, Misc Migrants, Grasshopper Warbler, Redstart intermittently.

Recaptures:(00) none

Sightings: Just because I decided not to run the hirundine lure a couple of groups of Swallows went south.  A small group of Swifts went north as did some Black-headed Gulls.
