09/09 Greenham Common

Location: Greenham Common Western Enclosure (wk36)

Notes: Nice to get out after a rainy few days. More Chiffchaff than Blackcap today and a couple of late Willow Warblers, one, carrying a lot of fat, weighed 10.6grms (normally weight is between 7.0 and 8.0gms).

Weather: overcast, light breeze, warm
Nets: 48metres 3 Rides, 18M, 18M and 12M up from 08:15 to 10:45 hrs
Lures: Warblers, Misc Migrants, Yellow-browed Warbler, Redstart, intermittently.

Recaptures: (none)

Sightings: a number of Chiffchaff out on the heath before nets up. Raven flew over south croaking, a high flying Sparrowhawk, a good flock of Goldfinch and now that it is wetter with lots of standing water Grey Wagtail also Meadow Pipit.
