Location:
Greenham Common Western Enclosure (wk40)
Session:06/10/2022 07:45
to 11:30hrs
Notes: The weather looked good for ringing this morning so decided not to miss
the opportunity. Goldcrests seem to be on the move today. The Dartford Warblers
were quiet unlike recent visits, so it was unexpected when one turned up in the
net
Present: JL,IQ
Weather:
sunny periods, light breeze, cool.
Nets: 48metres 3 Rides,
18M, 18M and 12M up from 08:00 to 10:30hrs
Lures:
BC-CC-FC-GC, Thrushes, Yellow-browed
Warbler, Wagtail/Pipit, intermittently.
Session:
Recaptures: (none)
Sightings: Missed a few species. Apart from Blackbird the only thrushes seen, two briefly
along treeline to the south that disappeared before I could get a decent view;
probably Mistle Thrush or Fieldfare. The Skylark were in a single flock of six
flying west-ish, and the Woodlark was singing very high-up for most of the morning over towards Sandleford Heath.
Another lone Rook or the same one as the other day flew southeast at about the same time.
