strong towards the end of the session, and that probably effected the number of
birds caught. Mostly Chiffchaff ringed, including two quite heavy birds, one
8.7grams and the other a whopping 9.2grams; normally
weight range is between 6 and 7.5 grams. These are fuelled ready
for their next hop towards the Mediterranean.

Blue Tit ringed: 24/06/2022, 04/08/2022
Sightings: The Peregrine, a female, flew in from the northeast and headed south. Carrion Crows very active
while Magpies were absent until about 09:45hrs when some appeared flying in from
the south. Two Ravens flew north-ish quite high and a third was high over
Sandleford Heath just after. Little sign of winter thrush activity with just a
single Redwing seen. The female Sparrowhawk was circling quite high over
Sandleford Heath and then stooped down below the treeline.
