24/10 Greenham Common

Location: Greenham Common Western Enclosure (wk43)
Session: 24/10/2022 07:45 to 10:50 hrs
Notes: A Blackcap was in the enclosure but blipped over the nets. A few Redwing, some Fieldfares and Meadow Pipits briefly reacted to the audio before flying off unfortunately. A few Goldcrest ringed, wk 43 is usually the peak week for this species, though wintering birds seem to be a couple of weeks late this year so far.
Present: JL,IW,IQ
Weather: overcast early, sunny later, warm, breezy.
Nets: 48metres 3 Rides, 18M, 18M and 12M up from 08:00 to 10:30hrs
Lures: BC-CC-FC-GC, Thrushes, Yellow-browed Warbler, Misc Winter Migrants, intermittently.

Sightings: My first Fieldfares of the second winter period, a group of 9 Cormorants flew slowly south.
