21/06 Greenham Common

Location: Greenham Common Western Enclosure (wk25)
Session: 21/06/2023 07:40 to 10:45hrs
Juvenile Male Stonechat
Adult Male Lesser Whitethroat
Notes: A good variety of species today. Two adult male Lesser Whitethroats also three Whitethroats including two juveniles. Many of the other species were juveniles probably dispersing locally. A juvenile male Stonechat was fully developed so could be from anywhere on the common. Blackcaps and Garden Warblers scarce so far this year.

Weather: overcast early clearing to bright sun, light breeze, warm
Nets: 48metres 3 Rides, 18M, 18M and 12M up from 08:00 to 10:30hrs
Lures: Warblers, Misc Migrants, GH, intermittently.

Dunnock                  ringed: 05/07/2022

Sightings: Blackcaps and Robins very quiet and scarce, at least one of the Dartford Warblers was a juvenile. Starling numbers beginning to build, the first Rook over this season and a “cloud” of Jackdaws over towards the bunkers and adjacent trees.
