18/06 Greenham Common

Location: Greenham Common Western Enclosure
Session: 18/06/2024 07:45 to 11:00hrs
Notes: Looks like its going to be a relatively quiet year as we are not getting many juveniles so far compared to 2023. Quite an old Long-tailed Tit from 2018 (7years) when it was a juvenile, not re-trapped since until today. It was in company with at least two juveniles, we caught both but one freed itself from the bag while we were taking the nets down.
Present: JL,IW.
Weather: Sunny, bright, warm, light breeze
Nets: 48metres 3 Rides, up from 08:00 to 10:30 hrs.

Lures audio: (Warbler), (Misc Migrants), (RT), (GH) intermittently.

Recaptures: (01)

Long-tailed Tit ringed: 13/06/2018

Sightings: The Oystercatcher flew west calling as we were putting the nets up and the first time we’ve detected a Dartford Warbler here for a week or two. A large Dragonfly flew through too fast to ID it.
