Location: Greenham Common Peaked Hill/Aldenbridge Gully
Session: 12-May-2015 15:00 to 17:00 hrs checking nest boxes
Weather: Bright sunny windy
Present: JL, KL
Notes: 32 nest boxes checked,  12 not used, one had a roosting long-eared bat in it.
Blue Tit occupy 13 boxes mostly sitting on eggs or just hatching; 1 nest had dead naked young and another looked as if deserted at egg stage but check once more
Great Tit occupy 5 boxes 3 boxes ringed had brood of 6, 7, 6 one box sitting and one probably deserted at egg stage but check once more.
Nuthatch occupy 2 boxes 1 box of 8 ringed the other young not quite ready (5 days old)

First day back after a really good holiday, walking 6 to 10 miles each day, some excellent food, fillet steak, squid, paella, and really good Italian style restaurant but no seaman’s mussel; out of season at the favourite Mallorcan restaurant, allegedly only uses fresh! Shame the birding was poor by previous standards
