Notes: An additional session in between the schedule CES visits; nets up for a couple of hours before mowing the rides. Standard nets captured just 14 birds. Looks like many of the Reed Warblers have moved off leaving a few birds that arrived this month according to first ringing dates of adult captures. A family party of Sedge Warblers, juveniles wandering on to the reed bed and a female Cetti’s Warbler accounted for the rest. Additional Nets (60’and 30’ rides in scrub) accounted for 20 captures including a tit flock. The main object of the session was to cut the fast going grass and sedge along the rides.
Sightings 39 Species: mostly youngsters including one good tit flock. No Cuckoos heard and the reed bed was quite with a noticeable lack of Reed Warblers; should highlight when migrants start moving through though.
