Notes: A very different
morning to yesterday’s session. On arrival it was obvious that there was a lot
more activity in the surrounding scrub. The first round was a capture of 11
mostly Sylvia warblers (Blackcap etc). The next was of a Blackcap, Chiffchaff
and Willow Warbler. As I looked back getting over the style I could see a lot
of activity in the far bushes. After processing the second capture we returned
to find the nets full of birds and more flying about. We had capture a large
mixed flock of tits and warblers; 74 in all. I extracted, Ian ringed most of
the capture and John wrote. Glad I was not on my own would have still been
there! This is the best ever capture at this site, would rather it was in a
trickle than in one go though. Long-tailed Tits always seem to double head
themselves.
Sightings 31 Species: Probably
missed a few species and individuals due to the number of birds ringed.
