Headlines: When I looked out the
window around dawn is was not blowing a gale as expected. A quick change of
plan saw me at the enclosure in calm, sunny conditions. I erected three nets;
big mistake! By the time I had put up the third net it had clouded over,
was blowing a gale and spotting with rain. I went into reverse mode and
quickly took the nets down. The last net I took down had a Blackcap in it
and a Chiffchaff bouncing off the billowing netting several times as I reeled the net in. A waste of
time, perhaps not as the Blackcap had been ringed elsewhere. It will be
interesting to know where it was ringed; hopefully somewhere distant.
Sightings included: two Raven, six Woodlark, two Stonechat, I didn’t get
chance to do a proper count.
