Location: Thatcham
Marsh LNR
Session: 11-Sep-2016 06:45 to
11:00hrs
Headlines: Another good audio
aided session, still plenty of warblers about topped by Blackcap for the first
time this year; some quite heavy (22+gms). Perhaps the last Sedge Warbler of
the year; time will tell. A good capture of Cetti's Warbler. Tits are still very low in numbers. Not the fall of
birds that we had last week but still a good capture. Other than forgoing much
as anticipated.

clearing to bright sun, warm and calm.

Sightings 39 Species: Less
activity in the scrub this week. A mixed flock of mostly Long-tailed Tit
patrolled around all morning. The sharp-eye Mr Wilding spotted some very high
flying House Martin and gulls; more probably slipped by without being
noticed. Cetti’s Warblers appeared to be disbursing; mostly females captured,
a sign of this species on the move; the few recoveries we have are usual around now and are more often than not females.
