Session: 15-Sep-2016 07:15 to
11:00hrs
Headlines: With the expected
breakdown of the warm weather decided to ring today as it will be my last
chance to ring here for a few days. The weather was better than yesterday and not
as forecast. Two Chiffchaffs captured at nets up and another four with a Blackcap
on the next check with just a single Chiffchaff on the third round. All week I
have been trying to attract the tit/phylos flock in the woods to cross through
the enclosure today I didn’t bother and of course it crossed. We captured 19
consisting of Chiffchaffs, Long-tailed Tits, Blue Tit and a couple of
Goldcrests. Following on from the theme of species capture when you are not
expecting it, the next round as well as a Blackcap had two Stonechats. That
was at about 09:30 and we had no further captures for the rest of the session.
