Notes: Good Chiffchaff numbers again, 24 so far this week. We usually get these numbers in week 28 to 31 and from week 34 to 41. We think the first period is
local birds dispersing and the latter the main movement through of migrants
from further north. Still quiet on the sylvia front.

Sightings
28 species: As we took the nets
down a male Kestrel came down to drink in the flood pools to the south, had very
bright fresh plumage a smart looking bird. The Willow Warbler was in the net but flicked out.
Jackdaws were busy again today streaming out from the bunkers, we stopped counting after 50+ reached. Dartford
Warblers were with (following) the Stonechats. Only one Chiffchaff
singing in the woodland margins, the rest turned up in the nets including 7 in one
net round.
