29/06 Greenham Common

Location: Greenham Common Western Enclosure
Session: 29/06/2021, 07:30 to 10:50hrs
Notes: The weather was a bit iffy this morning with some light drizzle early. Looks to have been a bit of a Chiffchaff passage and the first Whitethroat for over a week or so.
Present: JL,IW
Weather: overcast, dull, cool, light to medium breeze, light drizzle early brightening up later.
Nets: 48metres in 3 rides of 18M, 18M, 12M up from 07:30 to 10:30hrs
Lures Audio: Warblers and Misc Migrants, Hirundine(part), Redstart, Misc Residents(part)

Sightings 31 species: Thrushes active more than usual moving about the heath. No hirundines detected. A family party of Stonechats and a pair of Woodlark seen, no sign of Dartford Warbler today. Two probably more Bullfinches calling in the scrub, a scarce species here in recent years. Jackdaws still flying out and back to the colony in the cruise missile bunkers, some now in family groups.
