Location: Thatcham Marsh LNR Constant
Effort Site 2021.10 of 12
Session:01/08/2021, 06:00 to 11:00hrs
Notes: Good session this morning, even though the reed bed seemed quiet, we had a better capture than expected. There looks to have been a movement of Chiffchaffs
through as most were captured on one net round after a quiet start. We don’t
get many Willow Warblers here since the scrub matured so it was nice to get one
in amongst the Chiffchaffs. We captured the Icklesham Reed Warbler again this
session; maybe be a late local breeder.

Sightings
33 species: Two Sparrowhawks, thought to be juveniles, were
squabbling along the tree line at the back of the reed bed where we believe they
nested. Water Rails still calling in the reed bed. Just the one Swift over
today. Raven(s) must have been seen while I was sorting out a car problem.
