Common Western Enclosure Week 33
Session: 17/08/2021, 07:30 to 10:45hrs
Notes: Blustery wind again affected the nets, also a couple
of short light
showers, unsurprisingly not much activity.
Present: JL,IW
Weather: Overcast, cold blustery wind from the west, showery,
cool.
Nets: 48metres in 3 rides
of 18M, 18M, 12M up from 08:00 to 10:30hrs
Lures Audio: Warblers, Misc
Migrants, Hirundine(part), Redstart, Grasshopper Warbler
Sightings: Quiet, probably due
to the cold, blustery, showery, weather. The three Woodlark
flew over as we
were about to clear up. As we approached the enclosure a flock of at least
100
Starling appeared and looked as if they might end up in the nets but landed
outside. Not a
bird I have ringed often; they are messy to handle, and difficult to
extract from the netting.
