Location: Bagnor Feeder Winter CES
Session: 09/11/2021, 07:30 to 11:30hrs
Notes: The first ringing session at this feeder since 17/03/2020. It was not operated winter 2020/21 due to covid lockdowns. Lots of Blue Tits and an adult male Sparrowhawk that did a run at the feeders while were below at the nets  extracting. While I was extracting it, it got me once with its claws grabbing at my index figure, drawing blood. The first round was of 24 birds including the Sparrowhawk, so we were quite busy early. It calmed down later.
Present: JL,IW
Weather: sunny bright, cool, calm.
Nets: 12metres in 2 rides of 6M nets one each side of feeder, up from 08:00 to 11:00hrs

Great Tit                     Ringed 03/03/2020, 17/03/2020

Sightings: Surprisingly no winter thrushes yet; this is usually a good site for Redwings and Fieldfares. There could have been more of some species: Grey Wagtail, Chaffinch, Siskin etc as many were ID’d on calls unseen, and we have based our counts on some being the same bird’s flying about.
