20/09 Greenham Common

Location: Greenham Common Western Enclosure (wk38)
Session: 20/09/2022 07:40 to 11:00hrs
Notes: Looks  like Blackcap migration is easing down while Chiffchaff numbers through are increasing; numbers usually peak this week. The re-trap Robin had a yellow  inside of the upper mandible as for a juvenile (adults should be dark grey) but was ringed here as a juvenile in 2021!
Present: JL,IW
Weather: sunny periods, calm warm.
Nets: 48metres 3 Rides, 18M, 18M and 12M up from 08:00 to 10:30hrs
Lures: Warblers, Misc Migrants, Yellow-browed Warbler/Crests, Redstart, intermittently.

Recaptures: (01)

Robin                        ringed: 09/07/2021

Sightings:  Little hirundine movement today and just a single Meadow Pipit detected. Two Ravens flew west along the treeline with, simultaneously, another unseen croaking east of the enclosure; might have been more than one. A few of the Chiffchaff were singing  in the  trees. No Red Kite detected today, the first negative of this species here for a while as far as we can remember.
