GREENHAM GARDEN FEEDER
1st Winter Female Blackcap
The forecast for rain today meant that we didn't attempt to ring the Greenham Feeder this morning. As for most of the morning it was only spotting with rain I put a 6metre net up at my garden feeder. Ringed four more Goldfinches and this very noisy female Blackcap that has visited for the last week or two. It weighed 24.3 grams and it body was covered in fat so it must be on a migration stop-over. Normal Blackcap weight is around 17.0 grams.
