Notes: The first session of the year on the reed bed via a new access bridge provided by BBOWT.
There looks to have been a few Chiffchaff moving in or through the site. Otherwise much as
expected. No Sedge Warblers yet, they usually arrive mid-April, the earliest
since 1972 here is 02/04/2012 and 05/04/2009 so an early one any day now.

dull, dank, spotting early for a while, breezy, cold.

Sighting: A good movement of Sand Martin seen assembling for a while high over towards
Thatcham Nature Discovery Centre Lake and at least one Swallow flew through;
probably others with the martins. Pochard and Tufted Duck pairs were on the small pit nearby.
