20/09 Greenham Common

Location: Greenham Common Western Enclosure wk38
Session: 20/09/2024 07:40 to 10:55hrs
Notes: Mainly Blackcap and Chiffchaff again today plus the 4th Song Thrush and 7th Goldcrest of the season. No matching visits from last year for this week and next week I was in Skiathos.
Present: JL,IW.
Weather: overcast, cool, light breeze occasionally strong
Nets: 48metres 3 Rides, up from 08:00 to 10:30 hrs.
Lures audio: (Warbler), (Misc Migrants), (RT), (YB) intermittently.

Recaptures: (00) None

Sightings: Three thrushes dropped in late session that could have been Redwings but unfortunately they disappeared into woodland before we could be sure. There was some movement over the common for a change that included the Greylag Geese, Mallard and gulls. As is usual for the time of year the Jays are flying back and forth presumably stashing acorns Sandleford way.
