25/03 Snelsmore Feeder

Late posting  as been offline due to BT Decoder failure; engineer due 3rd April but got the voltmeter out, did a bit of investigation, found a power fault and made a temporary repair. Probably have a discussion with BT re interfering with hardware.

Location: Snelsmore Common Feeder
Session: 25-Mar-2018 07:30 to 11:30hrs(GMT)
Headlines: The final session at the Snelsmore Feeder, an average session for the time of year as most birds are giving preference to territorial matters. Two of the seasonal wardens joined us and got experience handling passerines.
Weather: bright, mostly overcast, cool, calm
Present: JL, VG, IW, DL, RGS, RDW, JHW, Clare, Ruth?
Nets: 24metres a 6M nets each side of feeder and a 12M about 6M west of feeder up from 08:00 to 11:00hrs(GMT)
Lure (feeder): fat balls, niger, black sunflower, peanuts

Sightings 25 Species: Ian’s list included a walk to the firs on the common, a pair of Sparrowhawk displayed and buzzards and kites soared and displayed late morning.
