Session: 18-Aug-2019 06:00 to 11:00hrs
Notes: We had a good session
for a change even though it rained a couple of times for short periods. 43
from the standard nets is above the average of 36 over the 28 years of CES;
range 1999-72, 2005/2018-11. The poor showing of this visit in 2018 was due to the session being affected by strong winds. 20 Reed Warblers is the best
capture for visit 11 since 2002, most were probably migrants though. Two Cetti’s Warblers brings the totals of juveniles to three, it is looking like this species
had a very poor breeding outcome.
Weather: cloudy, calm early, warm, rain showers mid-session not quite long enough to furl the nets, clear and windy after to the end of the session.
Present: JL,IW,JHW,DL
Nets: 234metres in three rides198m of standard reed bed ride, 18m, 18m of additional nets up from 06:35 to 10:33hrs
Lure ( ): none
