Session: 20-Aug-2019 07:10 to 11:15hrs
Notes: . A mixed bag today.
Ringed another juvenile Dartford Warbler and a Chaffinch, a scarce bird these
days and this one didn’t have Ugg boots! As we approach the nets on one round
we saw two Tree Pipits near the enclosure and a few moments later two pipits flew into a net. We
expected to find Tree Pipits, but they were Meadow Pipits; we checked them
very carefully though. Later on a walk round it became apparent that there had
been a small influx of Meadow Pipits.
Weather: sunny periods, warm,
breezy.
Present: JL, IW
Nets: 48metres in three
rides of 18m, 18m, 12m up from 07:45 to 10:45hrs
Lure (audio): misc. migrants,
warblers, redstart, swallows intermittently
