Session: 8-Oct-2019 07:35 to
10:50hrs
Notes: Nice to see lots of
tits this year, looks like they had a
good breeding outcome for a change. Just the one Blackcap and a goodish number
of Chiffchaffs. Goldcrest numbers are picking up. The Redwings came low over the nets just as we
were sorting out the the final audio to play. Other than this the singletons that occasionally flew over ignored the audio as did the Meadow Pipits. A better session than last year's matching visit
Weather: sunny periods, cool,
breezy.
Present: JL, IW
Nets: 48metres in three
rides of 18m, 18m, 12m up from 08:00 to 10:30hrs
Lure (audio): Autumn, BCCCGCFC, Yellow-browed
Warbler, Meadow Pipit intermittently

Sightings 33 Species: It is
interesting how numbers in the area change from session to session. Last time
there was a good flock of Greenfinches and others, today there were smaller numbers that we found late in the morning. Some Swallows flew south west mid-morning and
we manage to flush a Woodlark; they are hard to locate this time of year. The first Golden Plover of
the year were over the pickle factory (thanks RJC)
