Session: 15-Oct-2019 07:20 to
11:30hrs
Notes: First chance to go
ringing since last Tuesday and the wet and windy weather is due to return soon. Had a nice steady capture of birds through the session. More
Chiffchaffs than expected for the time of year and a few Goldcrests. At about
10:20hrs I took what I thought to be the last three birds out
of the net ready for nets down. I processed the birds and returned a few
minutes later at about 10:30hrs to find one net full of birds,
mostly Long-tailed Tits; so much for a quick getaway.
Not such an illustrious
cast at last year's matching visit!
Weather: overcast, mizzle
early, brighter later, calm
Present: JL
Nets: 48metres in three
rides of 18m, 18m, 12m up from 08:00 to 10:30hrs
Lure (audio): Autumn, BCCCGCFC, Yellow-browed
Warbler, Meadow Pipit, intermittently
