13/01 Greenham Common

Location: Greenham Estovers Feeder
Session: 13-Jan-2020 07:40 to 11:15hrs
Notes: Intended to ring here yesterday, but as I was about to erect the nets it rained heavily, so I cancelled the session. By the time I got home, just along the road, it had stopped and the cloud had cleared to bright sunshine; a 10:00 hrs return visit confirmed the wind to be far too strong for ringing. So as there are only a few days left until mid-month we did a Monday session. It has been fairly quiet at this feeder this winter and once we had caught the locals the birds all but stopped coming.
Weather: overcast with some sunny periods, occasional light rain showers, cool, breezy.
Present: JL, IW, JPM
Nets: 12metres in 2 nets one 6M each side of feeders up from 08:00 to 11:00hrs
Lure (Feeder): Niger, Peanut, Black Sunflower
