25/06 Greenham Common

Location: Greenham Common Western Enclosure
Session: 25-Jun-2020, 07:15 to 11:20hrs
Notes: It was breezy when I arrived so catching was limited. There seemed to be a few phylos around early, but no summer visitors captured today. Did capture another juvenile of the Stonechat brood that was around the area all session.
Weather: Warm then hot as the session progress, clear, breezy.
Present: JL,IW
Nets: 48metres in 3 net rides, two 18M and one 12M net up from 07:30 to 10:00hrs
Lure (None):

Recaptures: (2) A Great Tit and a Robin, both ringed 23/06/2020 so not gone far.

Sightings 29 Species: A few resident species moving around the heath and at least one family party of Stonechats. Some Linnets were nest building, presumably second broods.

Also: Yesterday with thanks to Nigel Cleere we ringed two pulli Nightjar. Even against a purple background it is difficult to see which way up it is; try spotting them in litter under a gorse bush.
