22/07 Greenham Common

Location: Greenham Common Western Enclosure

Session: 22-Jul-2020, 07:10 to 10:50hrs

Notes: We captured a Magpie, not a bird one looks forward to extracting, processing, etc, but we managed without injurer today. Willow Warblers and Chiffchaffs on the move

Present: JL,IW

Weather: sunny, warm, cloud clearing, calm early light breeze getting stronger later.

Nets: 48metres in 3 net rides, two 18M and one 12M net up from 07:30 to 10:30hrs

Lure (Audio): Warbler, Misc Migrants, Redstart, intermittently.


Recaptures:( 0)

Sightings 28 Species: A few Hirundines about today, 3 then 2 high flying House Martins and a single Swallow, over the trees to the west, late morning. A pristine immature male Kestrel worked the heath for a while, perched up for about five minutes then flew slowly east still checking out the heath.
