Session:
Notes: Weather conditions much better than yesterday. The cloud was much
higher and the north-easterly breeze lighter. It was slow early then some
birds were seen to be moving towards the enclosure and we had a couple of
reasonable rounds around 09:00hrs. This included the expected Blackcaps and
Chiffchaffs also a couple of Willow Warblers and maybe the last Garden
Warbler of the year. A more interesting capture last year though.
Weather: overcast, cloud higher than yesterday, some bright
spells, lighter north easterly breeze, cool.
Sightings: Most of the Canada Goose flock flew further west and north of us beyond and
below the tree line. We could hear them but apart from a small group that took
a more direct route to Lower Farm GP did not see them. A small brown job flew
over from the direction of the enclosure and disappeared down in the gorse on
the fringe of the wood. After some searching, we flushed a Tree Pipit up into a
birch tree. Brighter weather seems to increase activity out on the heath. No
Blackbirds seen!
