09/09 Greenham Common

Location: Greenham Common Western Enclosure Week 36
Session: 09/09/2021, 07:30 to 10:30hrs
Notes: I expected that rain would prevent ringing this morning, but the heavy downpour didn’t materialise. Condition looked ok when I arrived at site. More Blackcaps and Chiffchaffs to add to week 36 totals and a Whitethroat. It spotted a few times until around 10:10hrs when it began to rain so we quickly took the nets down.

Weather: overcast, foggy, calm, cool, spotting from about 09:30hs rained off 10:15hrs.
Nets: 48metres in 3 rides of 18M, 18M, 12M up from 08:00 to 10:15hrs
Lures Audio: Audio – Sylvia and Phylos Warblers, Crests, Grasshopper Warbler, Redstart, Scarce Migrants

Recaptures:(none)

Sightings:  A low species count, not sure why. A tit flock from the woods to the north headed out over the heath towards the enclosure but returned a while later without any being captured.
