29/09 Greenham Common

Location: Greenham Common Western Enclosure Week 39

Session: 29/09/2021, 07:40 to 10:50hrs

Notes: It was a bit windy for ringing really, probably a few bounced though the heath was quiet anyway. A re-trap Blackcap that had been ringed Sunday 26th at Thatcham Marsh LNR made it worthwhile.

Weather: Sunny periods, strong westerly breeze, cold

Nets: 48metres in 3 rides of 18M, 18M, 12M up from 08:00 to 10:30hrs

Lures Audio:  Sylvia and Phylos Warblers, Crests, Yellow-browed Warbler, Meadow Pipit,

Scarce Summer Migrants (chats, pipits, thrushes etc)

Blackcap ringed elsewhere: 26/09/2021 Thatcham Marsh LNR


Sightings: Swallows and House Martins going west, also several crows. The Dartford

Warblers were quite active and noisy in the gorse near the car for most the session. Rooks

are scarce on the common recently
