04/09 Thatcham Marsh LNR

Location: Thatcham Marsh LNR
Session: 04/09/2022 07:00 to 11:00hrs
Notes: The first post CES visit produced a steady flow of birds mostly from the 1A section of net. A few more Reed Warbler still about than we expected and two Sedge Warblers. Another good number of Chiffchaff ringed also Blackcap. All the Cetti’s Warblers were juvenile females. Rain threatened for much of the morning and finally progress from the occasional spotting about 10:15hrs when we decided to start taking the nets down before it became too heavy. Would probably have exceeded last years matching visit if it hadn’t rained.
Present: IW,DL,IQ,JL,JHW
Weather: overcast with very occasional patches of blue, calm, warm, some spotting of rain during the session until light rain arrived that curtailed the session.
