Weather: Sunny and very bright, slight breeze that increased as the session progressed, became cloudy later.

Nets: 280’ in 5 rides of 60’, 60’, 40’ 60’, 60’ up from 07:45 to 11:00hrs
Lure (audio ): Blackcap, Chiffchaff, Goldcrest, Firecrest, Willow Warbler, Meadow Pipit, Woodlark intermittently.
Capture (New/Recapture) 23:

Notes: Looks like the great summer migration show is drawing to a close for this year. Apart from the chiffchaff a different capture profile than of late here. Very quiet when I started with just three birds until 09:30hrs when a 30 strong flock of goldfinch dipped near the nets and three were captured with some blue tit and chiffchaff. Another capture of goldfinch, chiffchaff and a gold rest followed 20 minutes later. Then it stopped until just before the nets came down with a final blue tit and goldfinch. Some goldfinches were longer winged than normal for us and quite heavy  and had a fat score of 3.

Sightings 34 Species: Fairly quiet generally; woodlark quite active; a trickle of swallows south-east and a sand martin; a bit of a rarity here these days.
