Session: 13-Sep-2016 07:00 to
11:00hrs
Headlines: Very misty on
arrival and the sun was just peeping over the treetops. There was quite a lot of
phylos activity in the enclosure as well as the surrounding scrub
so it looked promising. A good capture of Chiffchaff followed while Blackcap numbers
were very disappointing for mid-September and probably one of the last Whitethroat I will capture this year, mind you I keep thinking that.
For the first time this season no Willow Warblers so it looks like return
migration for them is all but complete. Remembered to put a ring on the Reed Bunting this time;
don’t think it was the one released un-ringed a week ago though. Today's Goldcrest should be the
first of many from now into October as birds from further north and Europe move here
for the winter. Another enjoyable session.
Weather: misty early clearing
to bright sun, calm and warm, cloudy periods later with a light breeze.
