26/07 Greenham Common

Location: Greenham Common Western Enclosure (wk30)
Session: 26/07/2022 07:20 to 11:50hrs
Notes: Blackcaps and Garden Warblers going through today, most of the latter captured on the first round of the nets. Should be peak time for Willow Warbler, just one today though. Nice to get a Great Tit pulli from the Peaked Hill Boxes on the southern boundary of the common; we don’t get many recoveries from these boxes. The first reasonably size tit flock of the year boosted numbers.

Nets: 48metres 3 Rides, 18M, 18M and 12M up  from 08:00 to 10:30 hrs
Lures: Warblers, Misc Migrants, Grasshopper Warbler, Redstart intermittently.

Sightings: IW spotted a swift flock high up.  Herring Gull unusual here, otherwise quiet.
