Location: Greenham Common Western Enclosure (wk30)
Session: 26/07/2023 07:40 to 10:55hrs
Junvenile Willow Warbler, a scarce species so far this season
Notes: Another reasonable session today with more sylvia warblers and another Willow Warbler. The re-trap Garden Warbler is unusual, ringed 14 days ago, they don’t normally hang around, also the fourth out of habitat Reed Warbler of the season.
Present: JL,IW,KMB
Weather: bright, sunny, clear, calm, warm
Nets: 48metres 3 Rides, 18M, 18M and 12M up from 08:00 to 10:30hrs
Lures: Warblers, Misc Migrants, GH, RT intermittently.

Recaptures: (01)

Garden Warbler       ringed: 12/07/2023

Sightings: A single Swift over high south, may have been a couple of others called but unable to find. Not much activity from over-flyers, looks like most of the Jackdaw have finished nesting in the bunkers and even minimal activity from Woodpigeon. The only unusual species were five House Sparrows that flew in from the northeast probably foraging from the colony in Bury’s Bank Road.
