01/08 Greenham Common

Location: Greenham Common Western Enclosure (wk31)
Session: 01/08/2023 07:40 to 10:55hrs
One of today's juvenile Whitethroats looking a bit windswept

Notes: It was very breezy throughout the session and expectations were low. It was not a bad morning given the condition, though some birds might not have been caught due to the wind billowing the net pockets.
Present: JL,IW,KMB
Weather: sunny periods, warm, very strong breeze
Nets: 48metres 3 Rides, 18M, 18M and 12M up from 08:00 to 10:30hrs
Lures: Warblers, Misc Migrants, RT-DW-SC, RT intermittently

Recaptures: none

Sightings: Another big flock of Jackdaw flew over from the bunkers and the Starling flock was out on the grassland agasin. A Raven flew along the tree margin and probably the bird of the morning was seen by IW before I arrived when a Green Sandpiper was flush probably by a dog from the flooding near the southwest corner of the enclosure.
