01/09 Greenham Common

Location: Greenham Common Western Enclosure (wk35)
Session: 01/09/2023 07:45 to 11:00hrs
Notes: The rain and drizzle was forecast to stop around 07:00 hrs but pulse of light drizzle continued on and off for the whole session, never quite persisting enough  for us to finish early. We came very near it a couple of times, had to shake the rain drops of the nets etc. The fourth Firecrest of the season was the highlight of the morning. Interestingly we have not ringed any Whitethroat this week 35. We usually ring three or four week  35.
Present: JL,IW.
Weather: overcast with drizzly pulses, calm, cool, visibility poor.
Nets: 48metres 3 Rides, 18M, 18M and 12M up from 08:00 to 10:30hrs
Lures: (BC-CC-WW-GW-WH-LW-GC-FC), (W-WC-SF-RZ-TP), (GH-RW-SW-RB-AW), (RT-DW)
intermittently.

Recaptures: (03)

Blue Tit                     ringed: 15/08/2023

Chiffchaff                 ringed: 27/06/2023, 18/07/2023

Sightings: A better total than we had on the last visit despite the poor visibility. No non-bird species detected.
